Cascais is a touristic town located in the district of Lisbon, in Portugal. The municipality has some 200,000 inhabitants, and covers an area of 100,000 squared kilometres. This holiday location has long golden beaches on the shores of the Atlantic ocean. The town is about 25 kilometres from Lisbon city, and is also close to Sintra, Estoril and Oeiras. One of the main attractions of Cascais is its Port or Marina, a luxurious facility with capacity for more than 500 vessels. Cascais is known as the Portuguese Costa del Sol. There are many gardens to stroll around, lots of apartments, hotels and chalets to stay in, long expanses of golden beaches, and sand dunes. It is a cosmopolitan city and an ideal place to enjoy a holiday.
The name Cascais brings to mind luxury and glamour. An idyllic spot on the Portuguese coast, it is just a few minutes drive from Lisbon, and therefore very easy to reach. It is worth mentioning the beach at Guincho, a great place for lovers of windsurfing and kitesurfing, and the area's many monuments, including in Estoril.
